About Our founder - Tessa Cooper
Tessa’s career has always focussed on empowering diverse teams to create inclusive environments where everyone can thrive. She has been lead by her values around social justice & equality from an early age thanks to her feminist mother and her experiences of growing up with many foster siblings.
These values lead her to spend many years working in product development teams at socially-minded organisations such as the Guardian, Comic Relief, and FutureLearn, where she eventually became Director of People and Culture. She moved from product-focussed work to people-focussed work partly due to her passion & skill for building great teams and facilitating collaboration, but also due to returning to work as a breastfeeding mother and realising that the culture of work was not set up for people who didn’t quite '“fit”.
She set up Collaborative Future in January 2019, combining her people and product experience with the aim of bringing diverse groups together to collaborate on solving complex problems and creating more inclusive spaces where everyone can fulfil their potential.
Although she is currently the sole employee of Collaborative Future Tessa has a strong network across a variety of disciplines and industries which she works with to make great things happen!
