Collaborative Future Safeguarding Statement

Safeguarding is a term used to denote the duties and responsibilities that those providing a health, social or education service have to carry out / perform to protect individuals from harm.

Collaborative Future believes that a child or young person should never experience abuse of any kind. We currently only work with those over the age of 18 but recognise that some of those young adults may be at risk of abuse. We have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all young people, and to keep them safe. We are committed to carrying out our work in a way that protects them.

We will seek to keep young people safe by:

  • Valuing them, listening to and respecting them

  • Appointing a Designated Safeguarding Officer

  • Adopting child protection and safeguarding practices through procedures and guidance to staff, contractors and partners

  • Developing and implementing an effective policy and related procedures

  • Providing effective management for staff and contractors and support to our partners and members.

  • Recording and storing information professionally and securely, and sharing information about safeguarding and good practice

  • Managing any allegations against staff and volunteers appropriately

  • Ensuring that we have effective complaints and whistleblowing measures in place.

Safeguarding duties extend to whole organisation policies, values and ethos.  Our policy applies to all staff, contractors, interns, partners and members. Its purpose is to:

  • Protect young people and vulnerable adults who use Collaborative Future’s services.

  • Provide staff and volunteers with the overarching principles that guide our approach to safeguarding.
