Workshop : Sharing best practice for inclusive and transparent recruitment processes

A practical remote workshop to enable teams to attract a diverse range of people and adopt inclusive and effective hiring practices.

About this event

What the workshop is about:

We’re delivering a practical workshop to enable organisations to benefit from our tried and tested approaches for attracting a diverse range of people, ensuring candidates feel empowered and supported, and encouraging effective and inclusive decision making among the hiring team.

Through sharing knowledge and facilitating a range of activities and discussion, during this workshop we will focus in depth on the following key aspects of a recruitment process:

  • Understanding and communicating value - we’ll demonstrate how you can devise job ads which are accessible, showcase your values and in turn attract the best candidates for your team.

  • Navigating biases and assumptions - we’ll encourage conversation and reflection around the biases different people possess stepping into the role of a hiring panel member

  • Holding and prompting meaningful conversations - we’ll introduce you to approaches for interviewing and mediating decisions in a fair and relational manner that sparks interesting and transparent conversation

At the end of this workshop you will have:

  • a variety of ideas, tools and examples to guide you in your recruitment process

  • a deeper knowledge of how biases affect perception of candidates and what to do about that

  • confidence to keep building and sharing best practice with your wider team (and access for your whole team to our recruitment guide & resources!)

  • an example job advert for one of your roles and a relevant set of interview questions to use in the future

This workshop is designed for:

  • Managers and HR staff looking to change hiring processes

  • Team leaders and members wanting to be involved in the process

We also welcome people who are entirely new to hiring and growing teams - please indicate your level of experience when you sign up so that we can tailor the content to you.

Length: 10am - 4pm with plenty of breaks and an hour for lunch
