Lunch & Learn: What is a Tech Lead role?

During this Q&A we’ll explore the journeys and experiences of the people on the panel going into the tech sector, what helped them to identify their strengths and areas of focus as they entered and progressed in their workplaces, and what they think is important for anyone considering a leadership role in the future. We’ll talk about what a leadership role within tech looks like, and the opportunities and challenges a developer might face as they take on more responsibility within their work. We’ll also look at it from an employer's perspective, exploring when this role might be valuable and what you need to consider before introducing different leadership pathways within your tech team.

In this event, through interactive activities we will collectively voice and translate our words to gain more of an understanding of our own and others lived experiences. At the end, you will leave with a piece of poetry, as rough or polished as you’d like, to celebrate and remind you of your victories no matter how big or small.

Dealing with failure

Our relationship with failure is complex. Many people talk about failure being a great learning experience but we also need to make sure we create a safe environment where we can embrace that learning and not feel shamed or judged. This session will allow you to learn the narratives you hold about failure, discover how to reflect on failure in a productive way.
