NOTT POETRY: Stories that show our courage

  • The Playwright 38 Shakespeare St Nottingham NG1 4FQ (map)

“NOTT POETRY : Stories that show our courage” is an open-to-all social/workshop created to connect the vibrant fabric of Nottingham.

About the event

“NOTT POETRY : Stories that show our courage” is a space to celebrate Nottingham people and businesses by creating a space to connect, and share stories that have given us courage and brought us through tough times. In this event, through interactive activities we will collectively voice and translate our words to gain more of an understanding of our own and others lived experiences. At the end, you will leave with a piece of poetry, as rough or polished as you’d like, to celebrate and remind you of your victories no matter how big or small.

Share words, connect and have fun.

Can’t wait to see you there!

We recommend completing a lateral flow test prior to attending the event, and wearing masks when inside in close proximity.

Meet the organisers

Running the workshop is a group of young Nottingham creatives currently taking part in Collaborative Future's work placement programme.

Taylor Riley: Taylor is a multimedia creative, poet, and writer from Nottingham. His passion lies in connecting with people, and with each new interaction growing a new understanding of oneself, the nature of people and the world. See Taylor's work.

Casey Soma: Casey is a multimedia artist and poet based in Nottingham. He is also the creative director of Mad Truth, an arts organisation based around the power of creative expression for improving mental health and promoting personal growth. See Casey's work.

Our two creatives have been supported by others in the Creative Future's cohort and the wider Collaborative Future community with putting on this event for you.
